Wedding is someone special moment and we always want to celebrate it with our beloved family and friends. But, before the wedding the other special moment is the engagement. Most people usually also held the engagement party before the wedding party. So, what is the engagement? Why we need to hold the engagement party? And what we should prepare for the party?

According to merriam-webster online dictionary, engagement is an agreement to be married or the act of becoming engaged or the state of being engaged to be married. It is mean engagement is a moment when two people are promised to get married.

According to Wikipedia, the engagement party traditionally is held by the bride’s parents. This party is aim to share the families or relatives and friends about the wedding news and congratulate the couple. The ideal time frame to hold the engagement party is about 9 to 11 months before the wedding party.

The preparation for the engagement party are not quite different with the preparation for wedding party but it just more simple than wedding party. We need prepare:

1.      The guest list

Make your guest list. It is usually just invited the families, relatives and close friends. It depends on you and your parents will want to invite.

2.      The place

For the engagement party we can just hold it in our house or we can find another place that suitable and can accommodate the guest.

3.      The food and beverage

Make sure your preparation can satisfy the guest and its better if you make your preparation more than the number of the guest

4.      The invitation

It is the important thing to prepare. Without it we cannot inform the guest to attend our party. It can be traditional invitation or even digital invitation. The digital one can be more efficient and cheaper.
